Catherine Dawn Skaggs

Following a long battle with depression, Catherine Dawn “Wolf” Skaggs , 18, of Oak Hill, WV died on Thursday, September 29, 2011 in Oak Hill. Born June 19, 1993 at Beckley, WV she was the daughter of David Skaggs and Melissa Skaggs Malay and stepdaughter of Dana Malay all of Oak Hill. She will forever be loved and remembered by her family. Catherine was a 2001 graduate of Oak Hill High School where she was a trombone player in the OHHS marching band. She touched the lives of many people with her smile and sense of humor. Listening to music, playing soccer, meeting new people and having fun with her friends were some of the things she loved. Her grandparents, Billie Kaye and Robert A. Skaggs preceded her in death. In addition to her parents she is survived by one sister, Amanda Peters of Newport News, VA, aunts, Angela Thompson, Michelle Miller and Bobbi Skaggs all of Oak Hill, an uncle, Jim Skaggs of Nitro and cousins, Daniel and James Miller of Oak Hill, Zachery and Savannah Skaggs of Mt. Lookout, Cameron, Noe, Kenny, Daveallen and Khodi of Nitro and Geneva of Oak Hill. The family will have a private memorial service at a later date.
