Carrie E. Miller

Carrie Evelyn Painter Miller, 86, of Sweeneysburg Road, Beckley, WV passed away on Sunday, June 08, 2008 at her home. Born November 30, 1921 at Maynor, WV she was the daughter of the late Elson and Leta Williams Painter. Mrs. Miller was a member of the Maynor Free Will Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph "Joe" Miller on March 12, 1992. Carrie was the last surviving member of her immediate family having been preceded by brothers Robert Painter, Sammy Painter and Cleveland Painter. Surviving are her children, Margie Poindexter of Beckley, Gene Miller and wife, Irene of Beckley, Rev. Harry Miller and wife, Laura of Sweeneysburg Road, Loretta Elmore and husband, Joe of Sweeneysburg Road, Donald Miller and wife, Vicki of Beckley, JoAnn Mullins and husband, Herman of Waldorf, MD, Sherry Beasley of Warsaw, VA, whom she raised; thirteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and very special caregiver, Carol Owens. Services will be on Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope with Rev. Forrest Gray officiating. Entombment will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Prosperity WV. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 10, 2008 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
