Carrie Armstrong

Carrie Mae Roop Armstrong, 93, of Dothan, WV died Sunday, March 14, 2004 at Hilltop Center, Hilltop, WV after a long illness. Mrs. Armsrtong was a homemaker and member of the Dothan Missionary Baptist Church. She was born May 31, 1910 at Dothan, a daughter of the late James H. and Della Blake Roop. She was preceded in death by her husband, Basil Armstrong. As the last surviving member of her immediate family she was preceded in death by five brothers, Eddie Roop, Omri Roop, Charles Roop, Kyle Roop and Luther Roop; three sisters, Nellie Aliff, Tella Campbell, and Esta Painter. Survivors are her son, James Armstrong and his wife, Ann, of Dothan. Services will be at 2:30 PM Tuesday, March 16, 2004 at the Tyree Funeral Home Chapel in Oak Hill with Rev. Harmon Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Peters Cemetery, Dothan. Friends may call 1:30 PM until 2:30 PM at the funeral home.
