Carolyn Jean Slay Williams

Carolyn Jean Slay Williams, 59, of Lakewood Township, NJ formerly of Scarbro, WV died on Friday, July 03, 2009 at her home. Born September 03, 1949 she was the daughter of Marcellus Slay and the late Flora Slay. She was a payroll specialist for AMTrak. Her husband, Alphonso Williams and brothers, Ambis Slay, Marcellus Slay, Jr. and Daniel Webster preceded her in death. She was the devoted mother of Edward "Adimu" Milligan, Onaje K. Williams, Hodari S. (Nakell A.) Williams and Zalika Williams and DuEwa (Wayne) Eugene; loving grandmother to Adia N. Williams, JaJa O. Williams, Amirah N. Williams and Niara E. Eugene and dear sister of Gilbert "Punchie" Slay, Jessie (Susan) Slay, Edison Slay, Floria "Punkin" (Robert) Ryals and Tonia (John) Daniels. Carolyn also is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be on Thursday July 9, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at Ocean Avenue Baptist Church in Jersey City, NJ. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Graveside rites and committal service will be held at 12:00 noon at the Hilltop Cemetery on Rt. 19 between Oak Hill and Glen Jean on Sunday, July 12, 2009.
