Carol J. Peters,63, of Oak Hill died Friday, November 12, 2004 at Plateau Medical Center, Oak Hill after a short illness. She was born July 10, 1941 at Vanetta, WV, a daughter of the late Russell Adkins and Goldie Gray Adkins West and the step daughter of the late Lawrence West. She was a homemaker, loved her family and adored her grandchildren. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Baker and Francis Ortiz. Survivors include her husband, Curtis (Harold) Peters, one son, Randall Peters and wife, Christy of Oak Hill; two daughters, Patricia Nelson and husband, Allen of Oak Hill and Rebecca McClung and husband, Danny of Rainelle; six grandchildren, Allison and Seth Nelson, Stephanie and Stacey McClung, and Tony and Zachary Riddell; two brothers, Lewis Adkins of Wyoming, Delaware and Sam West of Lawrenceville, Georgia; three sisters, Anna Jailette of Loganville, Georgia, Brenda Hobbs of Durham, NC and Alice Greeson of Lawrenceville, Georgia. Funeral service 2:00 PM Monday, November 15, 2004 at Tyree Funeral Home Chapel, Oak Hill with Rev. Bill Menefee officiating. Burial at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Oak Hill. Friends may call from 1 until 2 PM Monday at the funeral home.
