Carlos Donald Davis, 83, of Oak Hill, WV died on Tuesday, March 23, 2004 at home in Oak Hill, WV. Born January 11, 1921 at McAlpin, WV he was the son of the late Emmett and Nora Stone Davis. Mr. Davis was a graduate of Mount Hope High School where he was active in sports. After graduation he enlisted in the US Army where he served in the European Theatre in the 939th Field Artillery. Upon returning from World War II he went to college, graduating from Morris Harvey College (now University of Charleston). He earned his Masters degree plus from WVU. He was a member of the Oak Hill Baptist Church and a former member and past president of the Oak Hill Lions Club. Carlos retired from the Fayette County School system after having taught at several schools the last being Oak Hill High School where he taught business. He also taught Business at WV Tech. Survivors include wife of 56 years, Margaret Good Davis; one daughter, Carla Garlow and husband, Kevin, of Oak Hill and a special granddaughter, Elizabeth Bellamy Back and husband, Chris, of Little Rock, AR. Three sisters: Juanita Ellison and husband, Norvelle, of Mount Hope; Delores Janiszewski and husband, of Edmund "Duke" of Fairfax, VA; Ramona Ford and husband, James of Charlton Heights and by several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home on Thursday, March 25, 2004, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Services will be on Friday, March 26, 2004, at 1:00 pm at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Rev. David White officiating. Entombment will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity WV.
