Carlos Ray Arthur, Sr.

Carlos Ray Arthur, Sr.,age 73, of Fayetteville, WV, passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at his residence after a long illness. Born August 27, 1940 at Prosperity, WV, he was the son of the late Frank E. and Pansy M. Wilson Arthur. Carlos was a retired school principal retiring from Rosedale Elementary School, was a a member of the Fayetteville United Methodist Church, member of the Fayette County Association of Retired School Employees. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles F. Arthur. Surviving are his wife Yvonne Tatum Arthur of Fayetteville, his son, Carlos Ray “Butch” Arthur, Jr.,of Cary, NC, two sisters, Jessie Arthur Tolley and her husband Dave of Charleston, WV. Jo Ann Arthur Kidd Davis and her husband John, of Mount Hope, WV., by a sister-in-law, Freida Arthur, the widow of his deceased brother, Charles. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 PM Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at the Fayetteville United Methodist Church with Rev. Clare Sulgit-Horn officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.
