Carl Thomas Smith , 86, of Hilltop, WV died on Monday, December 13, 2010 at Veterans Administration Hospital in Beckley, WV. Born October 03, 1924 at Whipple, WV he was the son of the late Leonard Joseph and Goldie M. Britt Smith. He retired from Ohio Brass in Oak Hill. Mr. Smith was a member of the Carlisle Church of God. He was a World War II US Navy veteran. His former wife, Susan Ann Bragg Smith and two sisters, Margaret Davis and Hilda Smith preceded him in death. Survivors include a sister, Norma Gentry of Scarbro and a niece, Cheri Hartless and husband Tra of Sedley, VA. Funeral services will be on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Pastor Richard Allen officiating. Burial will be at Hilltop Cemetery at Hilltop with military graveside rites by Oak Hill VFW Post #3110. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Keith Hudson, Keith Hudson, Jr., Keith Williams, Jesse Williams, Terry Van Buskirk and Timothy Van Van Buskirk will serve as pallbearers.
