Carl Morris Sanger

d. July 20, 2012

Carl Morris Sanger, 90, passed to his eternal home on Friday, July 20, 2012. He was the son of Lace and Murl Sanger, Sanger Street in Oak Hill. He graduated from Collins High School, class of 1940 and continued to enjoy yearly reunions. The 70th year reunion was the final one he attended as well helped to organize. This cohesive group of remaining graduates always enjoyed companionship, jokes, walks down memory lane, and family member involvement. Mr. Sanger worked with civil engineering on highways, mines, truck deliveries, digging ditches, farming, from the time he was 13 until retirement. He held true to his values and was clearly able to speak to many topics. His lifelong passion of farming and raising Morgan Horses and boxers kept him close to home and true happiness. His wife, Gwendolyn Sanger, the love of his life survives him. His daughter Sarah Glover, his principle care giver for several years and competition nightly of "who loves who the most" are true loving memories. His "Little Man", grandson Eric Hambrick was the light of his life. Carl was always proud of him. Eric attributes all of his accomplishments in life to "pawpaw"-his role model and the only true father he has ever known. His "Baby Girl", granddaughter Kristen Hambrick Gallent presented the beauty and sweetness in her entire childhood antics. Great grandchildren are Lauren Hambrick, Evan Hambrick, Darian Heintzman, Ian Heintzman, and MaKenna Gallent. Special member of the family, best friend, companion to family, and "worker bee with the largest heart in the world", Jimmy Day will always have our appreciation and love. Brothers surviving are Jack Sanger, Charleston, WV, George Sanger, Athens, GA, and Robert Sanger, Oak Hill, WV. Due to the expressed wishes of Carl, he will be cremated and no services held.
