Callie S. Crawford

On June 19th, 2009, at 2:30 p.m., Callie Susan Crawford, age 81, of Oak Hill, WV passed peacefully in her sleep at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV. Born April 26, 1928, at Ronceverte, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Johnny A. and Ethel Agnes Morgan Wiekle. Callie was a homemaker and formerly attended the Church of God of Prophecy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Dale Crawford; son, Hiskle Crawford; a brother, Paul Harmon and a sister, Nellie Koontz. Surviving are her two sons, Thomas and Charles Crawford, both of Oak Hill; her daughter, Letha Williams of Oak Hill; seven grandchildren, Jackie Crawford, Ernest Crawford, Shelley Crawford, Charlene Crawford, Jeremy Crawford, Beth Jeffries, all of Oak Hill, John Crawford of North Carolina; eight great-grandchildren, Crystal Crawford, Kristina Murphy, Lee Crawford, Bridgette Crawford and Miranda Dequaise, Tyler Jeffries, Jeremy Crawford, II, all of Oak Hill, and Candice Crawford of North Carolina; one great-great-granddaughter, Zoie Arbaugh, and one great-great-grandson, Cody Arbaugh, both of Oak Hill. She is also survived by four brothers, John Wiekle, II, Donald Wiekle and Ralph Wiekel, all of Alderson, W.Va., Basil Wiekle of Talcott, W.Va. and five sisters, Millicent Koontz and Geraldine Pence, both of Sarton, W.Va., Diane Huggins of Kenner, W.Va., Mary Ralson of Ronceverte and Violet Allen of Union, W.Va. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 22, 2009, at the Tyree Funeral Home Chapel, Oak Hill. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens at Oak Hill. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 21, 2009. Pallbearers will be Jackie, Jeremy, Bubby, Lee and Johnny Crawford and Wade Murphy, II.
