Butterfly Louise (Sparks) Arthur

Butterfly Louise Sparks Arthur, 78, of Mount Hope passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at her residence with her loving family by her side.

Born December 7, 1945, in Botty Top, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Lucinda Angle Sparks.

Butterfly was a homemaker and, in her leisure, she enjoyed gardening, taking care of all of her flowers that she loved, sewing especially quilts, crocheting, mushrooming, making crafts, and she loved being outside in the fresh air ginseng. Most of all she loved being surrounded by her family.

Along with her parents she is also preceded in death by her loving husband, William "Dicky" Arthur;  siblings, James "Jimmy" Milam, Alfred "Buddy" Milam, Patricia Workman, Percilla Johnson, Janet Simmers, Eula Ramsey, Robert Lincolnalger, Georgie Milam, Betty Milam, Margaret Dubberly, Claude Dewire, Betty Dewire, and Christine Dewire.

Those left to cherish her wonderful memory include her loving children, Georgia Warden (Michael) and William "Skipper" Arthur (Deborah); grandchildren, Michael Arthur, Bryanna Warden, Cristina Bell, and Roger VanSickle; great grandchildren, Daniel Arthur, Jesse Jordan VanSickle and John Wayne Bell III; great great grandchildren, Weston VanSickle and Raelynn Duncan; siblings, Junior Sparks, Dennis Lee Sparks, Linda Darlene Newcomb, John L. Milam, Emma Kelly, and Elizabeth Humphrey; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM on Friday, November 29, 2024 at Tyree Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Hope with Pastor Larry Humphrey officiating. In keeping with Butterfly's wishes following the service she will be cremated.

Visitation for friends will be one hour prior to service at the funeral home in Mount Hope on Friday, November 29, 2024.
