Burlie Eugene McClung

Burlie Eugene McClung, 77, of Oak Hill passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at his residence with his family by his side.

Born April 1, 1947, in Corliss, WV he was the son of the late Burlie Floyd and Maxine Dorothy Frame McClung.

Burlie was a proud United States Army Veteran, he worked for Jan Care as a Paramedic, was a coal truck driver, drove an 18-wheeler across country and was a man of many traits. In his leisure he enjoyed playing music, clipping his rose bushes that he loved, and spending time with his family.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by son, Brian David McClung; wife, Kathy Sue King McClung; and brother-in-law Jack Yeck.

Those left to cherish his wonderful memory include his 2 children, Lori Richardson (Chris) and Rick McClung (Paula); companion for 7 years Crystal Lively; 5 grandchildren, Joseph Billick, Christopher Richardson (Amber), Tyler McClung, Logan McClung, and Megan McClung; brother, Jack McClung (Kim); 4 sisters, Georgia Yeck, Brenda Caldwell, Patrica Garrett (Kenneth), and Barbara Brown; ex-wife and friend, Rita Bishop; aunt, Carolyn Martin; and many numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM on Monday, July 22, 2024, at Tyree Funeral Home Chapel in Oak Hill with Dr. Larry Lane officiating. Burial will follow at High Lawn Memorial Park in Oak Hill with Military Honors to be conducted by the Wyoming County Veteran Honor Guard.

Visitation for friends will be from 11:30 AM until 1:00 PM on Monday, July 22, 2024, at the funeral home in Oak Hill.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Billick, Christopher Richardson, Tyler McClung, Logan McClung, Jack McClung, Jr., and Scott Chuyka.
