Buford Joseph Jackson , 82, of Mount Hope, WV died on Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at his home.
Born April 16, 1932 at New Rochelle, NY he was the son of the late Buford and Helen Lanigan Jackson.
He was a retired Medical Records Administrator for the VA Medical Center and other hospitals
Buford was a Vietnam veteran of both the US Air Force and the US Navy.
He was a man of varied interests some of which included playing cards, traveling, playing golf, visiting coffee shops for donuts and watching westerns on TV
A son, Patrick Jackson and two sisters, Jeanie Hatfield and Gwen Smolnik preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Madeline Elswick Jackson; son, Kelly Jackson and wife, Mincha of San Antonio, TX; daughter, Diane Aydelott and husband, Robert of Sanford, FL; stepson, Tracy Elswick and companion, Ruth Lanier of Fayetteville; and four sisters, Valerie Reidinger and husband, Carl of Reading, PA, Lynette Gardner and husband, Frank of Pawtucket, RI, Fildema Harris of Dallas, TX and Veldon Matz and husband, Gene of Pottstown, PA.
He is also survived by six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Mount Hope. He will be cremated following the service. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
