Bobby Gene "Bg" Williams

Bobby Gene “BG” Williams, age 81 of Beckley, WV passed away on Friday, April 29, 2011 at ARH in Beckley. Born December 12, 1929 at Willis Branch, WV, he was the son of the late Ralph S. Williams and Stella Marie Lafferty Williams Russell. Mr. Williams was a retired miner having worked for New River Company at Stanaford, WV and was a retired Raleigh County Deputy Sheriff. He enjoyed golfing, NASCAR, country music, repairing old car and helping others. Mr. Williams served his country with the US Army during WWII. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Carol Williams and Joan Williams Scheetz. Surviving are his wife, Mary Ellen Tyree Williams of Beckley; his son Tommy Williams of Beaver and his daughter Sharon Williams Merluzzi and husband Sergio of San Antonio, TX. Also surviving are three sisters, Ann Williams Phillips of Beckley, Mary Williams Fluharty and husband Roy of Orlando, FL and Rose Tipton Clayton of Cape Coral, FL. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at the Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope with the Rev. F. D. Sexton and the Rev. George Garner officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 P.M. on Monday, May 2, 2011. Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
