Blanche Tyree Davis , 97, of Oak Hill, WV died on Thursday, June 10, 2010 at Plateau Medical Center in Oak Hill, WV. Born June 03, 1913 at Lively, WV she was the daughter of the late Jefferson C. and Della E. Lively Tyree. Blanche was a 1930 graduate of Mount Hope High School. She was a member of the Oak Hill Baptist Church, Oak Hill Business and Professional Women, AARP, Fayette County Retired School Employees and Senior Friends. In 1932 Mrs. Davis began her teaching career at Lively. Over the next 45 years she taught at Willis Branch, Pax, Mount Hope and Oak Hill. She worked with Head Start for seven years and was a tutor with the Adult Literacy Program at Vo Tech in Oak Hill. Sister, Mary Kesler and brothers, Frank L. Tyree, Lawrence L. Tyree, Ross Tyree and Howard M. Tyree preceded her in death. Survivors include daughter, Malinda Davis of Snowshoe; brother, Lewis F. "Buster" Tyree of Santee, SC; two grandsons, Eric Ferguson of West Palm Beach, FL and Aaron Ferguson of New York City, NY and several nieces and nephews including Howard Bedford Tyree who was her caregiver. Services will be on June 13, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Rev. Pete Lokant officiating. Entombment will be at High Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, Oak Hill. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations of sympathy may be made to the Oak Hill Library, 611 Main Street West, Oak Hill WV 25901.
