Billy D. Tyree

Billy D. Tyree , 73, of Prosperity, WV died on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, WV following a long illness. Born August 01, 1936 at Pax, WV he was the son of the late James Garfield and Orpha Pauline O'Neal Tyree. Mr. Tyree retired from DuPont Company in Beckley. He was a member of the Church of Christ, Prosperity. Billy attended Pax High School and was on the 1954 Class B Basketball Championship Team. He was the assistant director of the Pax Reunion Committee, served on the Board of the Raleigh County Commission on Aging and a member of the Pax Regional Community Center. Survivors include wife of 53 years, Charlene Faye Billups Tyree; two sons, Mark Tyree and wife, Renee of Prosperity and David Tyree of Morgantown and a special granddaughter, Emily Tyree of Prosperity. Services will be on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Mount Hope with Minister Fred Ford and Pastor Gary Walker officiating. Entombment will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Prosperity. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
