Billy Earl Thacker

Billy Earl Thacker, age 71, of Fayetteville, WV passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2011 at Plateau Medical Center, Oak Hill, WV. Born September 17, 1939 at Greasy Creek, Ky., he was the son of the late Manuel and Versie Robinson Thacker. Mr. Thacker worked construction as a roofing and siding installer and served his country with the US Army. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Mack, Ernest, Dewey and Donald Thacker. Surviving are his wife, Phoebe Bolden Thacker of Fayetteville, his daughter, Tina Newhouse and her husband Joe of Fayetteville; two sons, Willard Thacker and his wife Candi of Garland, TX and Jamie Thacker and his wife Danielle of Oak Hill;, three brothers, Bernie Thacker of Ohio, Reaford Thacker of Scarbro and Gary Thacker of Ohio. Also surviving are four grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at the Tyree Funeral Home Chapel, Oak Hill with Pastors Fred Bolden, Grover Bolden and Russell Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the Bibb Cemetery with graveside military rites conducted by Oak Hill VFW Post #3110.Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to services on Wednesday, June 15, 2011.
