Billy E. Hunt, Sr., 76, of Derry Hale, WV died on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at his home. Born March 19, 1932 at Sun, WV he was the son of the late Ed and Icey Mae Cantley Hunt. He was a retired coal miner. Mr. Hunt was a member of the Sun Missionary Baptist Church. He was a member of the U.M.W.A. and served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Lee Hinkle Hunt on September 27, 2006; brother, Robert Hunt and a sister, Gladys Turpin. Survivors include five sons, Billy E. Hunt, Jr. and wife, Pamela of Oak Hill, Randy Hunt and wife, Brenda of Beckley, Jimmy Hunt and companion, Barbara Adkins of Meadow Bridge, Mark Hunt and companion, Debbie Green of Maple Fork and Michael Hunt and companion Terri Harper of Beckley; three daughters, Rita Hunt Martin and husband, Theodore of Upper Marlboro, MD, Lois Hunt Bailey and husband, Lawrence of Oak Hill and Terri Hunt and companion, John Webb of Maple Fork; sister, Dorothy Dixon of Albuquerque, NM; special niece, Pamela White of Charles Town; special grandson, Aaron Hunt of Maple Fork; twenty five grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren and by numerous other relatives and friends. Services will be on Saturday, November 22, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope with Rev. Robert Burnett officiating. Burial will be at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Oak Hill with military graveside rites by VFW Post #3110 of Oak Hill. Son and grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope on Friday from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
