Billy Goins

Our loving husband, father and grandfather, Billy Joe Goins, 66, of Scarbro, WV died on Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at his home. Born August 23, 1941 at Minden, WV he was the son of Irene Buckland Goins of Backus Mountain, WV and the late Curtis Goins. Billy was a disabled coal miner and an avid hunter. A sister, Brenda Goins preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Emogene Goins; two daughters, Sherry Goins of Scarbro and Karen Polk and husband, Wayne of Oak Hill; one brother, Thurman Goins of Backus Mountain and two sisters, Martha Berry of Backus Mountain and Connie Harvey of Cool Ridge. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Matthew Polk and his girlfriend, Mary Harvey and Kelsey Polk all of Oak Hill. Services will be on Friday, February 15, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Rev. Dorothy Osborne officiating. Burial will be at Harrah Cemetery, Backus Mountain WV. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Thursday from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
