Billie Jean Stinnett McCurdy Burgess, age 84, of Montpelier, OH formerly of Oak Hill, WV died November 16, 2010 at Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice in Defiance, OH. Billie was born March 23, 1926 at Prudence, WV, the daughter of the late Clifford Robert and Mary Lenora Shepherd Stinnett. She was a graduate of Oak Hill High School, a member of Gentry Baptist church in Sanger, attended the Oak Hill Baptist Church were she was active for a number of years until she relocated in Montpelier, OH where she was active in the First Presbyterian Church until her health curtailed her activities. Before moving to Ohio, Billie worked for the Department of Health and Human Resources in Fayetteville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Lee McCurdy, niece, Kennylee Anne Burgess Frost, brothers-in-law, Kenneth J. Burgess and Fleming R. Huddleston, Sr. and a nephew, Charles Edward Huddleston. She is survived by Raymond Burgess of Montpelier, daughter, Mary Rebecca Hunter and husband, James of Shelbyville, IN, sons, William Eugene McCurdy and wife, Tammy of Pineville and Randy Bible of Montpelier, two sisters, Betty Stinnett Burgess and Barbara Stinnett Huddleston, one brother, Barney Clifford Stinnett and wife, Sara Nell of Oak Hill and sister-in-law, Nancy McCurdy Hamlin of Madison. Also surviving are grandchildren, Will Hunter and Kate Hunter both of Shelbyville, IN, Olivia Mae McCurdy DeLung and husband, Travis James of Fayetteville, Kasche Bible of Montpelier and Kelsey Nicole Bailey of Pineville, one great granddaughter, Jaidyn Faith DeLung of Fayetteville, nephews, Kevin, Desmond, Flem, Jr., Joseph and David F., nieces, Lisa, Kara, Amy Jo, Susan, and Julie F. and several great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, November 18, 2010 at Thompson Funeral Home, 204 E. Main Street, Montpelier, OH.
