Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Beulah Mae Poe Ward, 81, of Price Hill, WV went to heaven on Monday, October 20, 2008 at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, WV. Born September 02, 1927 at Metalton, WV she was the daughter of the late Page and Hattie Webb Poe and stepdaughter of the late Ernest Smith. Mrs. Ward was a member of the Maple Fork Baptist Church. She was a former member of the Price Hill Baptist Church from 1958 until 1977. She served as Secretary and Treasurer and was a singer in the church having devoted 19 years of service there. In the 1960's and 70's she drove people to various appointments and made sure all the needs in her community were met. Beulah was a talented piano and guitar player. She loved singing and playing gospel music. A dedicated homemaker, she loved working on her lawn, especially riding her Murray mower. She has gone on to heaven to be with her beloved son, Charles Layton "Chuckie" Ward who passed away on September 9, 1958 at the age of 10 years. As the last surviving member of her immediate family she was preceded in death by five brothers, Page Poe, Dewitt Poe, Harry Smith, Wayne Smith and Billy Howard Smith and two sisters. Edna Walker and Drema Cook. Survivors include her husband of 61 years and 10 months, Charles Ward; two daughters, Theresa Pittman and husband, Benny of Maple Fork and Judy Dunbar and husband, Henry of Beckley; two brothers, Bobby Lee Smith and wife, Betty of Mardela Springs, MD and David Smith of Lewisburg and her dearly loved sister, Charlene Smith of Mount Hope. She is also survived by four grandsons, Dean Russell and wife, Debra of Maple Fork, Jason Pilliteri of Sophia, Randy Pittman and wife, Vickie of Wilmington, NC and J.R. Dunbar of Beckley; four granddaughters, Kim Smith and husband, Barry of Midway, Lisa Walker and husband, Jeff of Beckley, Deana Sexton and husband, Kevin of Crab Orchard and Rachel Kiblinger and husband, Brian of Beckley; six great grandsons, Jordan Russell, Troy "T.J." Stiffler, Jr., Jeremy Kiblinger, Brain Sexton, Shane Sexton and Chase Pittman; six great granddaughters, Katie Russell, McKenzie Walker, Karsyn Walker, Ashleigh Sexton, Heather Kiblinger, Alyssa Kiblinger and Randi Lynn Pittman; two sisters-in-law, Mary Ellen Smith of Bradley and Dorothy Smith of Lewisburg along with many nieces, nephews, friends and her church family. Services will be on Friday, October 24, 2008 at 2:30 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope with Rev. Robert Barley, Rev. Dean Russell and Rev. F.D. Sexton officiating. Burial will be in the Garden of Everlasting Life at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Prosperity. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home in Mount Hope on Thursday, October 23, 2008 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Pallbearers will be J.R. Dunbar, Jason Pilliteri, T.J.
