Betty Jane Thomas Peters

Betty Jane Thomas Peters , 69, of Scarbro, WV died on Sunday, November 13, 2011 at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, WV. Born May 16, 1942 at Abingdon, VA she was the daughter of the late John and Eula Thomas. Mrs. Peters was a member of the Dothan Community Church and a homemaker. Her husband, Donald Gene Peters preceded her in death on November 3, 2011. She is also preceded in death by seven siblings. Survivors include her only daughter, Karen Elmore and husband, Jeff of Oak Hill, brother, Hunter Thomas of Bluefield and a sister, Mattie Detterman and husband, Joe of Tazewell, VA. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Benjamin Elmore, Samuel Elmore and Morgan Elmore and two nieces, Lila Clark and husband, Russell of Denver, NC and Ruth Belcher of Tazewell, VA. Funeral services will be on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Rev. Darrell Fuller officiating. Entombment will be at High Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum in Oak Hill. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
