Betty Jean Slaughter (Griffith), 64, of Beckley passed away peacefully in her home Saturday, April 30, 2022 with her son and daughter-in-law by her side.
Born January 28, 1958 in Petersburg, VA she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Barbara Kvascicka.
Betty worked in retail most of her career, she was good at fixing anything. It could have had 10 nails, black tape, and a zip tie but it worked. She loved cooking and made the best rolls in WV.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life Edward Slaughter.
Betty is survived by her only son whom loved her so very much Samuel Evans and his wife Missi of Beckley; 5 grandchildren, Dakota Ball of Bluefield, Jazmin Ball and her boyfriend Brian of Bolt, Christopher Ball and his girlfriend Marissa of Beckley, Kristyn Ball and her boyfriend Derek Stapleton of Matheny, and Haley Slaughter of Michigan; 8 great-grandchildren who she loved very much Karson, Kayden, Adaline, Elijah, Lilly, Parker, Amelia, and Stella; 3 sisters; and 2 brothers; and cookie.
Graveside Rites with burial to follow will be 1:00 PM Thursday, May 5, 2022 at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens where she will be laid to rest beside her husband per her wishes. Pastor Richard Chester officiating.
