Betty Murray Samples Mills, 69, of Harvey, WV died on Monday, March 19, 2007 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV. Born October 04, 1937 at Cucumber, WV she was the daughter of the late Rev. Paul Jonas Murray, Sr. and Nancy Caudell Murray. Mrs. Mills was a member of the Harvey Chapel United Methodist Church, Rt 1 Fayetteville, WV and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph James "Jim" Samples; second husband, Rev. Everett "Preacher" Mills; two sisters, Virgie Smith and Delores McLain and seven brothers, Fred Franklin Murray, William Cecil Murray, John Pete Murray, Charles Murray, Paul Murray, Jr., James Murrah and Omer Murray. Survivors include one daughter, Jo Ann Twohig and husband, Ron of Scott Depot, WV; three step daughters, Angela Lovejoy of Holly Ridge, NC, Laura Harvey and husband, Michael of Belington, WV and Juanita Roberts and husband, Gerald of Mullens, WV; two brothers, George Howard "Pete" Murray and wife, Shirley of Harvey, WV andd Billy Ray Murray, Sr. and wife, Janice of Oak Hill, WV; two grandsons, Brad and Josh Twohig; seven step grandchildren and five step great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill, WV on Wednesday, March 21, 2007 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Services will be on Thursday, March 22, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Pastor Ronald Sears officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill WV.
