Bessie M. Humphrey

Bessie Mae Lawhorn Humphrey, 84, of Newark, DE formerly of Oak Hill, WV died on Wednesday, January 25, 2006 at the home of her daughter. Born January 05, 1922 at Brown's Mountain, WV she was the daughter of the late James and Eva Violet Toney Lawhorn. She was a homemaker. Her husband, Jacob "Jake" Newman Humphrey; a great granddaughter, Kirsten Pyle and three brothers, Clinton Lawhorn, Delmas Lawhorn and Elmer Lawhorn preceded her in death. Survivors include one daughter, Prinzie Pyle of Newark, DE; three sisters, Ersline Burgess Riggs of Dover, DE, Florence Weikle of Wilmington, DE and Elmo Riggs of New Castle, DE; two brothers, Clifford Lawhorn of New Castle, DE and Leo Lawhorn, Sr. of Oak Hill, WV; two grandchildren, Lisa Pyle Reed of New Castle, DE and Timothy Pyle of Newark, DE and two great grandchildren, Eric and Madison Pyle of Newark, DE. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Saturday, January 28, 2006, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Services will be 1:00 PM on Sunday, January 29, 2006, at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Pastor Jerry Bush officiating. Burial will be at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Oak Hill WV.
