Beryl Lacy Lockett, age 59, of Hilltop, WV died February 25, 2011 at the Veterans Hospital in Beckley, WV after a long struggle with cancer. He was the son of Clarence L. and Lillian E. Lockett of Oak Hill. He was preceded in death by his parents and an older brother, Clarence E. Lockett. Upon his 1970 graduation for Collins High School, Beryl joined the Navy. He served as an aircraft mechanic in Okinawa during the Vietnam War and was discharged in July 1974. Beryl has four sons, Corey, Shawn, Mark and Jason. Also surviving is his brother, Donald D.. Lockett and his wife, Karen of Oak Hill, sister, Cheryl Hobbs and her husband, Paul of Oak Hill, nieces, Donita, Christina, Kimberly and Emily, nephews, Richard, Michael and Kevinn a best friends of 31 years Clayton Mosley of Greentown; and his beloved dog, Buckeye. He was very appreciative of the helkpprovided to him, while at home, from Hospice of Southern West Virginia. Special thanks also go to Irma Adams, Dr. Boyd and the caring staff on the fourth floor at the Veterans Hospital. As per his wishes, he was cremated.
