A loving mother and grandmother and special friend to those who knew her, Bernice I. Suttle Bennett , 81, of Mount Hope, WV went to be with the Lord after a long battling illness with cancer on Sunday, May 06, 2007 at her home. Born November 29, 1925 at Sanger, WV she was the daughter of the late Walter and Alice Kelly Suttle. Bernice was a member of the Maple Fork Baptist Church, Maple Fork, WV, where she was active in the Women's Circle. Three brothers, Cecil, Ernest and Carlos Suttle preceded her in death. Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn S. Treadway and husband, Tim of Prosperity, WV; two sons, Bill Bennett and wife, Carol of Mount Hope, WV and Blaine Bennett and wife, Nancy of Lewisburg, WV; one sister, Virgie Bennett of Bradley, WV; four granddaughters, Susan Treadway Johnson and husband, Joe of Beckley, WV, Kimberly Treadway Varney and husband, Jeff of Crab Orchard, WV, Tiffany Bennett of Lewisburg, WV and Candice Bennett of Lewisburg, WV; two grandsons, Robert Bennett and wife, Beverly of Shady Spring, WV and Jeffery Bennett of Mount Hope, WV. She is also survived by six great grandchildren and a special and dear friend, Carolyn Martin of Mount Hope, WV. Visitation will be held at the Maple Fork Baptist Church on Wednesday, May 9, 2007, from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 PM. Services will be on Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at the Maple Fork Baptist Church with Pastor Robert Lee Barley officiating. Burial will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity WV. Mrs. Bennett's family expresses a special thanks to the staff of Hospice of Southern West Virginia for their care. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Bowers Hospice House, 454 Cranberry Drive, Beckley WV 25801. Grandsons and men of the church will serve as pallbearers.
