Bernard G. Porterfield

Bernard G. Porterfield,86, of Price Hill died on Friday, July 9, 2004, at the Veteran's Hospital in Beckley, WV after a short illness. He was born April 20, 1918 at Red Sulphur Springs, WV, a son of the late Isaac and Vinnie Bray Porterfield. He was a retired salesman for Meadow Gold Dairy and a veteran of World War II where he served in the US Navy. Preceded in death by one son, Robert Porterfield. He is survived by his wife, Beulah Morgan Porterfield; three sons, Bernard Lee Porterfield and wife, Shirley of White Sulphur Springs, WV, Mannix Porterfield of Price Hill, WV, Larry Allen Porterfield of Stanaford, WV and wife, Carolyn, one daughter, Carol Ann Sellards and husband, Duane of Beckley, WV and one sister, Eleanor Hatcher of Beckley, WV; seven grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Services Monday, July 12, 2004 at 11:00 AM at the Tyree Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Hope with Rev. Allen Gallimore and Rev. Wallace officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, Beckley. Friends may call from 7 until 9 PM Sunday, July 11 at the funeral home.
