Bernard Randall Nester

Bernard Randall Nester , 79, of Connersville, IN formerly of Minden, WV went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 07, 2010 at Fayette Regional Health System in Connersville, IN. Born December 28, 1930 at Minden, WV he was the son of the late John Everett and Birdie Lillian Hylton Nester. Mr. Nester was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church, Connersville, IN, Bernard was the youngest of nine children. He was educated in Fayette County schools in West Virginia and worked as a coal miner. He moved to Connersville December 13, 1951 to work at Rex Manufacturing and it's successor, retiring September 30, 1987. He was proud of his West Virginia heritage and the Christian home where he was raised and was a lifelong member of the National Riffle Association and the Fayette County Riffle and Pistol Club. Two infant daughters, Lillian and Sharon Nester, two sisters and three brothers preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Pauline Teel Nester; two sons, Leslie Lee Nester and wife Donna of Eaton, OH and Rev. George Alan Nester and wife, Luann of Connersville, IN; brother, Darrell (Hudd) Nester of Ravenswood, WV and two sisters, Mary Altizer of Watkinsville, GA and Ruth Smith of Mt. Airy, MD. Also surviving four grandchildren, Brian Nester and wife, Melissa, Lisa Schultz and husband, Jim, Kara DeBoard and husband, Clayton and Rebekah Ashley Nester and fiance, Gary Cerqua of Indianapolis and six great grandchildren. Services will be on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at 2:30 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Rev. George Nester officiating. Burial will be at I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Oak Hill.
