Bernard Jean Burton , 74, of Packs Branch, WV died on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at his home.
Born October 25, 1940 at Giles County, VA he was the son of the late Alan Edward and Mary Virginia Bowles Burton.
He was a retired Mail Messenger for the US Postal Service.
Bernard enjoyed hunting, fishing, walking in the woods and playing his guitar. He was a US Army veteran. .
He was preceded in death by several brothers; sisters in law, Drema Helton, Wanda Vance and Mamie Cole and brothers in law, William K. Vance, Hubert Cole, Jerry Helton, James Williams, Tommy Joe Coleman and Thomas Garrett.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Betty Jane Vance Burton; two sons, James Davis Burton of Beckley and Alan Edward Burton and wife, Megan of Packs Branch; and daughter, Mary Jane Myles of Ohio.
Also surviving are grandchildren, Michael, Samantha and Kaitlyn Myles and Keaton James Burton of Beckley. step grandchildren, Paige and Dustin Waters; two precious great grandchildren, Payton Myles and Hyden Myles; sisters in law, brothers and sisters in law, Mary Garrett of Ohio, Alice Coleman of Scarbro, Reva Vance of Michigan, Ethel and Billy Joe Johnson of Mount Hope, Archie and Elizabeth Vance of South Carolina and Donald Mack Vance of Ohio.
Service and burial will be private.
