Bernard G. Blake , 66, of Fayetteville, WV died on Wednesday, December 04, 2013 at Select Specialty Hospital at St. Francis in Charleston, WV.

Born September 27, 1947 at Mossy, WV he was the son of the late William B. and Dorothy L. Stover Blake.

He was a Heavy Equipment Operator for the coal mining industry.

Bernard enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a US Navy veteran having served in the Vietnam era.

He leaves behind a loving family which includes his wife, Helen Clendenin Blake; two sons, Matthew D. Blake and wife, Trina of Oak Hill and Christopher Blake and wife, Trisha of Mossy; and two sisters, Sherry Blake and husband, Jack Hoare of Davidsonville, MD and Sandra Blake of North Carolina.

He is also survived by three grandsons, Bobby Shumake, Christopher Blake and William Seth Blake; special granddaughter, Marianne Maminta; great grandson, Michael Shumake; nieces, nephews and many friends.

Graveside rites and committal service will be on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Prosperity with Rev. Carlos Hodge officiating. Burial will follow. There will be no visitation.
