Bennetta Bracken Carter, 94, of Fairfax, VA formerly of Oak Hill, WV died on Tuesday, January 31, 2006 at Mt. Vernon Rehabilitation & Nsg. Center in Alexandria, VA. Born March 31, 1911 in Meigs County, OH she was the daughter of the late Charles Steele Bracken, Sr. and Anna High Bracken. She was retired from Greyhound Lines Inc. Mrs. Carter was a former member of the Ruffner Memorial Presbyterian Church, Charleston, WV. She attended both the United Methodist Church and the First Presbyterian Church in Oak Hill and was a member of the William Morris Chapter N.S.D.A.R.. Her husband, Leonard F. Carter; two brothers, John and Charles Bracken and one sister, Marg Bell preceded her in death. Survivors include one daughter, Tomeia Rawson of Fairfax, VA; one step-son, Leonard "Pete" Carter, Jr. and wife, Joann, of Russell, KY; two granddaughters, Laurelyn Rawson and Jennifer Robinette and husband, John, and one great grandson, Hayden Robinette. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Friday, February 3, 2006, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Services will be on Friday, February 3, 2006, at 11:00 A.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Rev. William Slates officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill WV.
