Barry D. Sumpter

Barry Dwayne Sumpter, 49, of Scarbro, WV died on Saturday, December 01, 2007 at the home of his mother. Born July 27, 1958 at Oak Hill, WV he was the son of Annie B. Massey Sumpter of Scarbro, WV and the late Eugene K. Sumpter. He was a disabled truck driver. In addition to his mother and her companion, William Gillam, other survivors include one son, Jason Sumpter and wife, Jennie of Fayetteville; five brothers, Ronald Sumpter and wife, Rebecca of Scarbro, Donnie Sumpter and wife, Brenda of Scarbro, Raymond Sumpter and wife, Betty of Maple Fork, Charles Sumpter and wife, Janice of Dothan and Jerry Sumpter and wife, Tina of Mossy and three sisters, Joan Toney and husband, John of Dothan, Sue Conley and husband, Charles of Oak Hill and Vivian Gilkeson and husband, Butch of Rainelle. He is also survived by one grandchild, Jordan Sumpter and a host of nephews and nieces. Services will be on Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Rev. Lum Toney officiating. Burial will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity WV. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Jerry Massey, Joshua Sumpter, Teddy Tincher, Chuck Gray, Butch Gilkeson and Shawn Sumpter will serve as pallbearers.
