Barbara Ann Nichols

Barbara Ann Matthews Nichols, 73, of Oak Hill, WV passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Plateau Medical Center, Oak Hill. Born September 16, 1937 at MacDonald, WV, she was the daughter of the late Herbert Ronald and Jennie Scott Mathews. Barbara worked along with her husband as business partners in the family business, Nichols Exxon Service Center, Oak Hill for 42 years. She attended the Jones Avenue First Church of God, Oak Hill. She loved having all her family and friends around her. She enjoyed reading, being on the computer, and being out in the yard taking care of her flowers. Barbara was a kind, loving, gentle and compassionate lady. Those left to cherish her memory are her loving, devoted husband of 53 years, Donald "Don" Nichols; two daughters, Donna Nichols Fitzwater of Summersville and Jennie Nichols of Oak Hill; one son, Donald Scott Nichols of Oak Hill; four grandchildren, Erika and Meghan Williams, both of Oak Hill, Ryan Adkins and Sean Fitzwater both of Summersville; one sister, Nancy Mathews Harding of Oak Hill; two brothers, Ronald Mathews of Fayetteville and James Mathews of Oak Hill. Services will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Pastor Ralph Shupe officiating. Burial will follow in High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill.
