Barbara Jean Karnes Killeen

Barbara Jean Karnes Killeen , 75, of Mount Hope, WV died on Monday, May 05, 2014 at her home. Born September 26, 1938 at Dunloop, WV she was the daughter of the late Quincy H. and Minnie Reese Welch Karnes. Barbara attended Mount Hope High School. She was of the Protestant faith. After living in Florida for many years Barbara returned to Mount Hope and worked for Southern Communications in Beckley until her retirement. Her husband, Robert J. Killeen, brother-in-law, Billy Castle and five nieces and nephews preceded her in death. Those left to cherish her memory include one stepson, Kevin Killeen of Woodbridge, VA; brother, Quincy H. Karnes, Jr. and wife, Becky of Millington, TN; two sisters, Betty Castle of Beckley and Margaret Crawford and husband, William T. of Scarbro; special niece, Vicki Castle of Beckley, her best friend, Sharon Dickinson of Oak Hill and several nieces and nephews Funeral services will be on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Mount Hope with Rev. Ralph Castle officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
