Barbara Sue Hardy

Barbara Sue Hardy, 69, of Amigo, went home to see her Lord and Savior on Friday, March 7, 2025, at her home.

Born November 17, 1955, in Mullens, she was the daughter of the late Horace and Christine Mary (Hankins) McKinney.

Barbara was a homemaker and a graduate of Mullens High School. She was an active member at the Amigo Missionary Baptist Church where she worked in the kitchen for different functions. She was a former Weight Watcher leader and owned her own catering business making cakes and candies. In her leisure she enjoyed going on cruises and going to the Council on Aging where she walked 3 miles a day and socialized with her friends.

When we pause to remember Barbara, we shall remember her uplifting personality, her encouraging words, and how much she touched everyone that she met.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 40 years, Kenneth Hardy; her daughter, Stacy Cozort and her husband, Bryan of Amigo; her son, Ryan Cook and his wife, Paula of Stephenson; her prize possession, her granddaughters, Christian and Gracie Cozort; her brother, Stephen McKinney and his wife, Cheryl of Oak Hill; nieces, Amy Schwarz and her husband, JT of Oak Hill and Beth McKinney of Oak Hill; great niece, Kaleigh Schwarz of Oak Hill; great nephew, Jacob Schwarz of Oak Hill; special cousin who was like a daughter, Amanda Knepper of Cedar Bluff, VA; and numerous other family, church family, and her friends from Council on Aging.

Services will be 12 Noon, Friday, March 14, 2025, at the Amigo Missionary Baptist Church, Amigo. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley.

Friends may call one hour prior to services Friday at the church.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
