Arlene E. Hurd

Surrounded by her family, Arlene Elizabeth Riep Hurd, 67, of Maple Fork, WV passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, January 28, 2009. Born May 07, 1941 in Washington, DC she was the daughter of Anna Klinker Riep of Friendsville, MD and the late Harold Riep. Mrs. Hurd was a member of the St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, Beckley and a homemaker. In addition to her mother she is survived by her husband of 46 years, David Eugene Hurd; son, Michael Hurd and wife, Candy of Maple Fork; daughter, Catherine Redden and husband, Jeff of Maple Fork and sister, Patricia Riep Dice of Friendsville, MD. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Kyle and Katie Hurd and Hunter Redden and her mother-in-law, Lucille Hurd of Maple Fork. Services will be on Friday, January 30, 2009 at 1:30 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Mount Hope with Monsignor Samuel Sacus and Rev. Mr. Don Wise officiating. Entombment will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Prosperity. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
