Arizona Aliff Burnside, 85, of Scarbro, WV died on Friday, October 15, 2004 at Select Specialty Hospital in Charleston, WV. Born October 19, 1918 at Scarbro, WV she was the daughter of the late Barney "Bud" and Fanny J. Wriston Aliff. Mrs. Burnside was a homemaker and a Protestant by faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Barney Nelson Burnside on Jan 29, 1989; son, Ballard Burnside; daugther-in-law, Cora Sue Burnside; sisters, Virginia Stover and Ocie Painter; brothers, Troy, Roy and Hilmer Aliff; grandson, Douglas Burnside, Jr.; great grandchildren, Austin Massie and Audra Aliff. Survivors include daughter, Rosa Jane Heflin and husband, Jim, of Williamson; sons, "Pope" Hansford Burnside and wife, Betty, of Columbus, OH; Douglas W. Burnside and Justin Dale Burnside and wife, Pam, all of Mossy; sisters, Leona Proffit of Coolville, OH and Erma Painter and husband, Dan, of Ypsilanti, MI. Arizona enjoyed her family, especially her 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her caregivers, Tina Burnside and Holly Bunnell and a number of nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Sunday, October 17, 2004, from 6:00 - 9:00 pm. Services will be on Monday, October 18, 2004, at 2:00 pm at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Pastor Eugene Blankenship officiating. Entombment will be at High Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, Oak Hill WV.
