Annie Braenovich Thomas

Annie Braenovich Thomas, age 89, of Wilmington, NC, formerly of Page, WV went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at the New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington. Born August 14, 1923 in Page, WV she was the daughter of the late George and Mary Zilic Braenovich. She is survived by her husband, Philip L. Thomas; one daughter, Sharon (Gene) Vincent of Wilmington; four grandchildren: Gene A. Vincent III and Ashley Vincent of Wilmington, NC; and Jennifer and Nathan Martin, of Cane Ridge, TN; one sister, Mrs. Julia Hudson of Northfork, WV and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews in WV and surrounding states. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Rebecca Marie Martin of Dothan, AL; a sister, Mary Cole of Oak Hill; and five brothers – Tony Braenovich of Boulder, CO; Melvin and Stoin Braenovich of Robson; Nick Braenovich of Page, and Drogran Braenovich of Kincaid. As a homemaker for many years, Annie loved to cook, sew and crochet doilies and work with crafts. She served our country’s war efforts during WWII by working in a glass factory, which made windshields for armed services jeeps and trucks. Services will be on Sunday, January 27, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Rev. Delmas Wolfe officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill. Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Saturday, January 26, 2013 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
