Anna Maye Comer Collins , 92, of Oak Hill, WV died on Sunday, August 25, 2013 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV following a brief illness. Born November 10, 1920 at Wikle, Monroe County, WV she was the daughter of the late William Arch and Emily Annie Miller Comer. As a preschooler she moved with her family to Beckley, WV where she was raised and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1938. Following World War II, Maye married Francis Dewey Collins in 1946. Together they owned and operated Collins Television and Radio on Main Street in Oak Hill for 28 years. In 1963 they became members of the Oak Hill United Methodist Church where Maye was active in the Revecca Bible Class and the Women's 3F Groupls. She had a life long interest in sewing, quilting and cooking. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey "Buzz" Collins in 1993; a brother, Harry Estel Comer in 2012; and two sisters, Pauline Velma Lewis in 1980 and Virginia Helen Comer in 2006. Survivors include two nieces, Carol Ann Zizelman of Rockford, OH and Jane Ellen Comer of West Palm Beach, FL; and one nephew, Richard Lewis of Overland Park, Kansas. She is also survived by two sister-in-law, Bonnie Nichols of Beaver Creek, OH and Betty Carter of Roanoke, VA. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Dr. Charles D. Miller officiating. Burial will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity. Friends may call two hours prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Richard Lewis, Ken Zizelman, David Doner, Carla Frank, Lee Ann Frank and Jim Simple with Joe Mackey honorary pallbearer.
