Anita Lynn Walker

Anita Lynn Walker, 61, of Barker’s Ridge, Stephenson, West Virginia, passed away on September 29, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born December 17, 1963 the daughter of Thomas Wayne Shrewsberry and Georgie Ellen (Sizemore) Shrewsberry, Anita’s early life on the mountain shaped her into a lifelong animal lover, garden enthusiast, master cookie baker, creative crafter, and loving caretaker.

Anita is survived by her husband Ron Walker, daughter Kelly Shrewsbury and husband Allen Shrewsbury, sister Eletha Sharon Brown and husband Willie Brown of Stephenson, WV, daughter Amanda Butcher and husband Adam Butcher of Portland, Indiana, daughter Kathy Bisel and husband Mike Bisel of Hartford City, Indiana, daughter Ronny Lynn Nelson and her husband Greg Nelson of Fort Recovery, Indiana, grandchildren Allysa Shrewsbury, Allen Wayne Shrewsbury, and Tristan Shrewsbury of Stephenson, West Virginia, grandchildren Abby Bonvillian and Alix Bonvillian, and Harley Butcher of Portland, Indiana, Alexis Morgan of Fort Recovery, Indiana, and Michele Bisel and Kerri Bisel of Hartford City, Indiana.

 Anita was preceded in death by her parents, brother (Thomas) Bradley Shrewsberry, and grandchildren Gage Michael Bonvillian, Anthany Preston Shrewsbury, and Corra Rose Shrewsbury. 

Friends and family left to cherish her memory can gather at Mountaineer Baptist Church on Barker’s Ridge Saturday October 5, 2024 from 6-8 PM and again Sunday for graveside service and burial at the Thomas Wayne Shrewsberry Cemetery at 11 AM with Pastor Lucas Shrewsberry officiating. 

Grandsons, other family, and friends serving as pallbearers.
