Anita Catherine Small

Anita Catherine Johnson Small, 44, of Charlotte, NC died on Wednesday, November 19, 2003 at her home in Charlotte, NC following a sudden illness. Born January 25, 1959 at Oak Hill, WV she was the daughter of Johnny N. and Mary L. Clay Johnson of Oak Hill, WV. She was a Music Minister at Advant Lutheran Church in University City, NC and a College Professor at Montreat Presbyterian College in Charlotte, NC and Central Piedmont Community College. She was also a piano teacher. Ms. Small was a 1977 Oak Hill High School, earned her undergraduate degree at West Virginia Tech and a Masters at the University of Kentucky. She enjoyed the outdoors including kayaking, tennis, fishing and bicycling. She participated in the opera program in college. She loved God and her fellow man and was always there for everyone who needed her. Additional survivors include: Daughter, Stacy Beth Small of Winona Brother, Michael Dale Johnson and wife, JoAnn, of Oak Hill Niece, Melissa Visitation will be held at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill on Friday, November 21, 2003 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Services will be on Saturday, November 22, 2003 at 11:00 A.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with Rev. Nancy Craft Pastor and Jerry Bush officiating. Burial will be at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Oak Hill WV. A memorial service will be held at the Advent Lutheran Church, University City, NC on Sunday, November 30, 2003 at 3:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the Advent Lutheran Church, University City, NC.
