Amanda Darcus Toney Boardwine

Amanda Darcus Toney Boardwine , 85, of Fayetteville, WV was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 19, 2011 at CAMC - General Division in Charleston, WV. Born March 26, 1926 at Toney Creek, WV she was the daughter of the late Carl Arthur “Kit” and Winnie Florence Thompson Toney. Mrs. Boardwine was a member of the Carlisle First Church of God and a homemaker. Her husband, Aldie Carl Boardwine preceded her in death as did three sisters, Mable Speca, Dorothy Yelrich and Frances Windle, brothers, R.R. "Cap" Toney, Beauford Toney, Donald Carl "Tom" Toney and Chester Stewart Toney, and son-in-law, David Wood. Survivors include three sons, Ed Boardwine and wife, Irma of Alabama, Sam Boardwine and wife, Barbara of Fayetteville, and Dr. Walt Boardwine and wife, Gwen of Colorado, one daughter, Mary Jane Wood of Robson, four brothers, Sam Toney of Richwood, William Toney of Bedford, NC, Chris Toney of Marshall, MI and Richard C. "Fiddler" Toney of Oak Hill and two sisters, Mary Cumbow of Hilltop and Patsy Speca of Baltimore, MD. Also surviving are ten grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, June 22, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill. with Rev. Wayne Johnston officiating. Burial will be at Huse Memorial Park, Fayetteville. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
