Alton Lee Lewis, 55, of Willis, MI formerly of Fenton and Belleville, MI died on Wednesday, April 07, 2004 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI. Born June 25, 1948 at Sun, WV he was the son of the late William Raymond and Nina Myrtle Ayers Lewis. He retired from General Motors in 1999 after 31 1/2 years of service at the Ypsilanti and Flint, MI plants. Mr. Lewis was a member of the U.A.W. Local #1776, Willow Run, MI and #598 Flint GM truck and Bus Plant. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, yard work and most of all, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.. He was preceded in death by his sister in infancy, Drema Lewis; brother, Jack Lewis and sister, Louise Lattie. Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Linda G. Keffer Lewis; daughter, Retta (William) Chamberlain of Belleville, MI; son, Raymond Lee Lewis of Willis, MI; seven sisters, Dora Vest of Midway, Phyllis Roop of Dothan, Sally Ellis of Fort Pierce, FL, Joan (Charles) Terry and Joy (Al) Dobbs both of Glen Jean, Judith (Dee) Sheehan and Diane (Danny) McKinney both of Oak Hill; 4 brothers, Willard (Charlene) Lewis of Panama City, Fl, Bill (Kathy) Lewis of Adrian, MI, his twin brother, Rabon (Dottie) Lewis of Somerset, NJ and Pannell (Patty) Lewis of Pineville; three grandchildren, Sarah, Jacob and Katelyn Chamberlain of Belleville, MI. He is also survived by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Charles B. and Pauline Keffer of Oak Hill; two sisters-in-law, Gladys K. Pack of Scarbro and Eulaine Reid of Sunbury, OH; and by a special friend, Gary Faulkner of Brooklyn, MI; and by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be at Sun Full Gospel Church on Monday, April 12, 2004 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Jessie Parker officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill. Friends may call from 6 until 8 PM at the Sun Full Gospel Church on Sunday evening. Pallbearers will be Raymond Lewis, Bill Lewis, Rabon Lewis, Sonny Lewis, Pannell Lewis and Bill Chamberlain. Donations of sympathy may be made to Sun Full Gospel Church, PO Box 229, Glen Jean, WV 25846.
