Alonzo L. "Buck" Bobbitt

Alonzo Lawrence "Buck” Bobbitt, 82, of Oak Hill, WV died on Saturday, January 09, 2010 at CAMC - Memorial Division in Charleston, WV. Born December 03, 1927 at Elk Ridge, WV he was the son of the late William C. and Grace Price Bobbitt. Buck was a retired Warehouse Manager for Rainbird Sprinkler Manufacturing and a former coal miner having last worked at Winifrede. He attended the Oak Hill Church of the Nazarene and was a US Army veteran. Three sisters, Ruth McArdle, Helen Lopez and Nancy Carelli and two brothers, Bill Bobbitt and Jimmy Bobbitt preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Jackie Bobbitt and was the loving father of John Bill Bobbitt and wife Pam of Alta Loma, CA and Bonnie Alvarran and husband, John of Oak Hill. Also surviving are three brothers, Sherman Bobbitt and wife, Rosie of Falls View, Raymond Bobbitt and wife, Patty of Winfield and Ronald Bobbitt and wife, Mary of Adena Village; two sisters, Margaret Bailey of Montgomery and Midge Hartwell and husband, Harold of Mankota, Minn.; five grandchildren, Jacqueline, Joni and husband, Jeremy, Michael and companion, Taryn, Jolene and husband, Matt and Matthew and companion, Lexie and twelve great grandchildren. Services will be on Friday, January 15, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home and 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Pastor Jerry Bush officiating. Entombment will be at High Lawn Memorial Park Mausoleum, Oak Hill. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
