Alma Carwile Blake

Alma Lois Carwile Blake, 97, of Mount Airy, NC formerly of Oak Hill, WV and Columbus, OH died on Thursday, August 16, 2007 at Central Continuing Care in Mount Airy, NC. Born November 29, 1909 at Oak Hill, WV she was the daughter of the late Charles Christopher and Mary Louise Thompson Carwile. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Blake was a former member of the Oak Hill United Methodist Church were she had been Circle chairman. She was also a former member of the Oak Hill Chapter #107 O.E.S., Phythian Sisters, a former Girl Scout leader and past president of the Oak Hill Women's Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ollie Lloyd Blake; daughters, Dr. Alene Blake and Lou Ellen Fairless; brother, Ed Carwile and sisters, May Carwile Puckett and Mary Lou Carwile Davis Survivors include daughter, Joyce Treadway of Mount Airy, NC; 3 grandchildren, Ollie Treadway and wife, Linda of Winston Salem, NC, Ottie Treadway of Scott Depot, WV, Dr. Christy Treadway of Charleston, WV; 2 great grandchildren, Melissa "Missy" Tinsley of Charleston, WV and Justin Treadway of Lexington, SC and 2 great-great grandchildren, Elijah and Levi Tinsley of Charleston, WV Services will be on Sunday, August 19, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill with John Fairless officiating. Burial will be at High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill WV. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
