Alice Loretta "Mawmaw" Stover

Alice Loretta “Mawmaw” Stover, 82, of Oak Hill, passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley.

Born August 9, 1942, at Minden, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Robert and Thelma (Baber) Armstrong.

Loretta was a former resident of Dalton, Georgia. She was a former clerk for Super X and CVS in Beckley, and after retirement she became a foster parent for Fayette County until 2023.

Those left to cherish her memory include her two sons, Michael Stover and his wife, Fran of Winston-Salem, NC and Hank Stover of Beaver; one daughter, Kathy Shepherd of Beckley; grandson, Phillip Shepherd of Beckley; one sister; five brothers; and many nieces and nephews. In addition are her bonus family, Ella Walker, Jackie Rutherford (Mark); grandson, Triston; granddaughter, Mallorie; and granddaughter, Shannon Ward (Jacob).

Graveside service and burial will be 2:00 P.M., Friday, November 29, 2024, at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Oak Hill with Pastor Tim Mitchem officiating.

Friends may call from 12:30 P.M. till 1:45 P.M. Friday at Tyree Funeral Home Chapel, Oak Hill.

For those wishing to attend the graveside service, please meet at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill, the procession will leave at 1:45 P.M.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
