Alice Settle

Alice Mae Bowyer Settle, 70, of Ansted, WV died Friday, September 5, 2003 at her home following a long illness. Born March 6, 1933 at Creamery, she was the daughter of John Edgar and Mary Kirby Bowyer. She was a homemaker and was of the Pentecostal faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Settle, Sr.,a daughter, Karen Lee Settle, four brothers, and three sisters. SURVIVORS include her companion, Kenneth Blair of Ansted, three sons, James W. Settle, Jr. of Minden, Marvin Settle of Ansted, Gary Settle of Atlantic, Virginia, three daughters, Joyce Neal of Victor, Sandy Hundley of Victor and Jenny Settle of Ansted, two sisters, Faye Newberry of Alderson, WV, and Loretta Bryant of Lansing, 16 grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 5 step great grandchildren. SERVICES will be 3 PM Sunday at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Rev. Art Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Oak Hill. Friends may call from 7 until 9 PM Saturday, September 6, from 7 until 9 PM at Tyree Funeral Home in Oak Hill.
