Alice Faye Criss

Alice Faye Criss, 65, of Mount Hope, WV died on Sunday, September 13, 2009 at Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV. Born May 26, 1944 at Lochgelly, WV she was the daughter of Ruby Mae Criss Kessinger of Oak Hill, WV and the late Clinton Elmer Criss and Margaret Lucas Rhoten. Alice was a retired Unit Secretary for Plateau Medical Center with 28 years service and had previously been employed at ARH, Beckley for 1 year and Martha Washington Hospital for 12 years. She was a member of the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Oak Hill and attended the Mount Hope Methodist Temple. Two brothers, Jimmy Criss and Conard Criss preceded her in death. Survivors include daughter, Lycricia Faith Criss of Charleston, WV; granddaughter, Khadija Alia Ahmed and husband, Chris of Charleston; Steve Criss of Chicago, IL, who was like a son to her; one sister, Denise Smith of Mount Hope and four brothers, Jay Criss of Fayetteville, Lee Criss of Mount Hope, Mark Criss of Virginia and Michael Kessinger of Mount Hope. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Oak Hill with Father Paul Yuenger officiating. Burial will be at Hilltop Cemetery, Hilltop. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the church.
