Alfred H. Cole

Alfred Houston Cole of Oak Hill, WV formerly of Hurricane, WV went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 24, 2007 at the Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV. He will be missed by his family and friends. Born March 21, 1938 in Charleston, WV he was the son of the late Clara Faye Cole Carido. He was raised by his grandparents the late Pierce and Pearl Helm Cole. Mr. Cole was a disabled US Air Force veteran. A grandson, Michael Iland Kohler preceded him in death. Survivors include one son, Darrell H. Cole and wife, Teresa of Rainelle, WV; four daughters, Barbara Kohler of Talbott, TN, Crystal Bradley of Green Cove Springs, FL, Karen Cole of Alexis, NC and Sharen Eckle of Columbus, OH; thirteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; his caregiver, Sylvia Carte and Kimmie and Tammy of Hospice. Alfred donated his body to the WVU Human Gift Registry for scientific study. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, March 3, 2007 at the Dothan Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Ronald Sears and Lum Toney officiating. The family wishes to thank Hospice and the nurses and staff of Bowers Hospice House. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Southern West Virginia, PO Box 1472, Beckley, WV 25802.
